Situated in the North of the Isle of Man on
the outskirts of Sulby village, Close Chairn Cottages are three separate
units set within a converted barn. With a backdrop of Manx hills and being
surrounded by working farmland, it is a truly relaxing place to stay. At
certain times of the year we have sheep and lambs in our own six-acre field,
along with the three resident horses.
All three cottages have wooden floors to the
main living areas with the bedrooms and bathrooms being carpeted, aside from
the single-storey Beg cottage which has a slip-resistant tiled floor. Each
cottage has its own tv and video for your entertainment. An oil-fired boiler
provides both central heating and constant hot water. There is no additional
charge for electricity and all bed linen and towelling is included in the
price. The linen is changed weekly and all cottages are thoroughly cleaned
between occupancies. Cottages are equipped with smoke detectors and we ask
holiday guests not to smoke inside. Each cottage has its own covered parking
area to the front of the building and we ask all guests to use them to save
blocking access for other guests.
In the nearby village of Sulby there is a
local shop/post office that carries a good range of goods, plus newspapers.
Opposite the post office is the Sulby Glen Hotel, which serves meals as well
as a stiff tipple. The nearby Ginger Hall Hotel also offers good quality
food and beverages.
If it is the
TT races or Manx Grand Prix that appeals, the excellent vantage point of
Sulby Bridge is only half a mile away. With us being situated outside of the
course, you can still travel around the island during race days.
Ramsey town is only 4 miles away, where you
can shop at either of the two large supermarkets. A number of chemists,
petrol stations and varied shops are also situated there. If you fancy a
swim, Ramsey has a public swimming pool available.
For those that enjoy fishing, reservoir and
river fishing licences can be obtained at the post office. Or, if it is golf
that takes your fancy, three golf courses are nearby, these being Ramsey,
Glen Truan and Peel.
At Close Chairn, you are never far away from
the variety of attractions that the Isle of Man has to offer. Why not come
